DNF for José Luis after a first corner multi-rider crash

Race two on home soil for the Accolade Smrz Racing resembled the first one yesterday but this time
it was Victor Rodriguez who brought home a 9th position after a fight through the field from 21st on
the grid. José Luis Perez did not finish the race unfortunately after a multi-rider collision in the first
corner of the first lap which prevented him from repeating yesterday’s performance and fighting for
world championship points once again. The Czech team from České Budějovice is leaving Most with 11
world championship points in the bag ahead of the next round of the World Supersport 300
championship that will take place in Magny Cours, France, at the beginning of September.

#19 Victor Rodriguez Nuñez
“Today’s ninth position feels like a race win. After such a difficult season so far and the number of times
I got taken out, I am really happy. I think it could have been even better but two riders crashed in front
of me which created a gap that we were not able to close again. I am also happy because it was the team’s home race and I wanted to do well on their home soil. I am looking forward to Magny Cours
now, I like that track.“

#73 José Luis Perez Gonzalez
“After the warm-up I thought that we could have done even better than yesterday. Unfortunately, what
happened to Victor yesterday happened to me today – I did not finish the race due to a crash that was
not my fault and I did not have the opportunity to fight for more world championship points. I am sad
to finish the team’s home race in the first corner but this is racing.”

Jakub Smrž (team manager)
“I think it was a positive weekend overall. Both our riders were the victim of a crash they did not cause
and in the second race they scored points. Both were close to the podium and were able to show that
they have the speed to be in the front group. We were able to showcase our team in front of home fans
and I would like to take this opportunity to say big thanks to all our partners and friends, who came out
to support us. We have something to build on and perhaps it will be even better in the next race.“
